Polished concrete is the existing slab, refined. Diamond tooling cuts and tightens the surface through successive grits. Densifier hardens it. A specified sheen — matte, satin, or high gloss — is the finish. There is no thick resin film to peel, yellow, or delaminate.

That is why polish shows up in Capital Region retail, offices, breweries, schools, and loft interiors. It is also why polish is a poor substitute for a garage flake system that has to fight road salt. Different job, different floor.

What you can specify

• Aggregate exposure: cream, salt-and-pepper, or full stone.
• Sheen: from low honed to high gloss.
• Stain or dye when the project needs color without a coating.
• Guard or stain-resist treatments for food service adjacent spaces.

Joints, cracks, and old patches will still read after a polish. We repair what should be repaired and leave honest concrete where a patch would look worse than the original.

Climate and maintenance notes
