Metallic epoxy is a pigmented resin floor with movement — swirls, depth, and a finish that reads closer to stone or water than to a painted slab. It is the system we use when the floor is part of the design, not just the thing you park on.

Saratoga Springs showrooms, Albany salons, Hudson Valley studios, and finished basements in Clifton Park and Latham are typical jobs. The look is custom every time. The process underneath is not. We still grind, repair, and moisture-test. A metallic floor that maps every crack six months later was decorated, not installed.

Where metallic epoxy works

• Retail and showroom floors that need a signature surface.
• Salons, studios, and boutique offices.
• Finished basements and recreation rooms.
• Feature entries and interior slabs that stay indoors and stay dry.

It is usually the wrong call for a salt-soaked three-car garage that sees snow blowers and steel ramps. Those floors belong on the flake and polyaspartic pages. Metallic can be used in a garage when the client wants the look and accepts the maintenance profile; we will say so on the visit.

How a metallic floor is built

• Evaluate the slab: cracks, joints, moisture, existing coatings.
• Diamond grind to a coating profile. Repair what will telegraph.
• Prime and place the metallic base. Pigments are worked in by hand — this is the art step.
• Lock it with a clear topcoat, often polyaspartic, for abrasion and UV.

No two metallic pours look identical. That is the point. We review color direction from the Color Chart and prior work in the Gallery before we schedule.

Design notes for this region

Interior slabs in older Albany and Troy buildings can be uneven. Metallic hides some variation and highlights others. We will tell you if a floor needs a skim or a different system before anyone talks about pearl and charcoal swirls.
